HELP & GETTING STARTED

Find your way around the table.

Practical help for joining Baithak, setting up feeds, posting, messaging, safety, exports, and installing the PWA.

Join and set up your profile

Choose Sign up and enter your name, email, unique handle and a password of at least 12 characters. Save the recovery key shown after registration in a private password manager or another secure place. It is the way to reset a forgotten password. Handles begin with a letter and use 3–24 letters, numbers or underscores. Edit your profile to add a bio, location, website or photo.

Build the feed you want

Home offers Everyone, Following and Circles. Open Feed controls in the Home header or Feed & sample community controls in Settings to save your default. Follow profiles you want to hear from. Join a Circle to see it in Your Circles. Reposts and sample content have separate switches. See Feed rules for the exact ordering policy.

Post a thought or a question

Select Share a thought. Write up to 500 Unicode characters, add up to four JPEG, PNG or WebP images, or use the poll button for two to four options. Image uploads are reduced when the browser supports it and must be under 5 MB after processing. A poll cannot include images or be a reply. Its author chooses the voting window.

Keep, respond and share

Use Reply to add context, Repost with a thought to discuss a post with your own words, or Repost to keep it on your profile. A bookmark is visible only to you. Post options include Edit and Delete for the author. Share copies a post link or opens your device’s share menu; recipients sign in to read member conversations.

Messages and connection changes

Choose New message or open a real member’s profile and choose Message. Limit incoming messages in Settings. Sample profiles cannot receive messages. A live connection signals updates, with periodic checks as a fallback. A single check means the server saved the message; a double check means the recipient’s visible tab acknowledged it. Unconfirmed sends offer Retry safely with the same identifier, even after reloading the tab. Use the bin on your sent message to remove it for both participants, or block unwanted contact from the conversation header.

Resolve a safety concern

Open post options to mute, block or report. Explain the concern in the report form. Manage muted and blocked accounts in Settings. A blocked or suspended conversation may become unavailable. A removed quote displays an unavailable message rather than revealing its old content.

Install and use offline

Choose Get the app or the install button in Settings. On supported Android and desktop browsers, use Install app; on iOS Safari, use Share then Add to Home Screen. Offline mode provides a generic help page, not cached private feeds or messages. Written drafts are stored locally and posting waits for a connection.

Export or leave

Settings → Download your Baithak data saves a JSON file containing your profile and owned social records, including conversations you participated in. Member account deletion requires entering your exact handle and confirming. It is permanent in the active database. The founding administrator account cannot delete itself.
